A few years ago, my husband bought me a camera for Christmas. I played with it a lot, learning the features as I went along. As I shot, I started looking at the world a little differently. When I looked at various landscapes, old barns, animals, sunrises, or even family members, I would start framing the scene in my mind and think what a great photo this could make. I would go out exploring, just to practice shooting, and found that I could travel the same road many times but get hundreds of different images. From early in my photography experience, I realized that when I did something that I had never done before with my photography, I was taking a creative leap and everything I was learning in that moment would help me with all future projects that I would take on. I believe that this is how a photographer overcomes the challenge that defines their own personal style. For me, photography is an important self-expressive activity, it is my form of artistic expression. Choosing to share my unique vision of the world, with the world.
I have a great family that has given me much support as I venture out on this path of photography. I am blessed to live in Mercer County, WV because it’s such a beautiful place which gives me the opportunity to take many wonderful landscape shots, which I love to do. I specialize in children, couples, and family portraits, as you can see on my Photos page. I do have a home studio but will be glad to travel to Bluefield, Princeton, and the surrounding areas to shoot as well. I want people to feel as comfortable as possible so you can expect complete professionalism when working with me. I have made many friends through my experience working as a photographer and love helping others create beautiful images that will last a lifetime. I look forward to working with you. If there is anything that I can help you with please contact me and let me know how I can help.
